Rosa Parks was an inspirational women who helped change the world just by a seat on the bus. Rosa was an African American woman who was on the bus and the driver asked her to move seats because there was no more seats for white people. Rosa refused to give up her seat and asked why he could not sit in any of the other seats. The driver asked Rosa to move again but she still refused. After the driver seen that she was not going to move he called the police.
Rosa Parks boarded the Cleveland Avenue bus around 6 p.m. December 1, 1955, in Montgomery. She paid her fare and sat in an empty seat in the first row of back seats reserved for blacks in the "colored" section. Near the middle of the bus right behind the white section. The white section had filled up and Rosa has had problems with this bus driver before. He asked ROsa to move but Rosa refused.
After the driver called the police, the police came and arrested Rosa. The police asked her why she did not give up her seat and she told the driver that she wanted to be treated equally. The officer took her to jail. Rosa was charged with a violation of Chapter 6, Section 11 segregation law of the Montgomery City code. Although Rosa was technically in the colored section before the driver moved the sign behind her. Rosa stayed in jail for one night and was bailed out by friends.
